Dear Diary,
I must admit - it was a challenging week for me. Generally, life as a philosophy student can be both intellectually stimulating and emotionally challenging, but when unforeseen obstacles strike, it can become an even more arduous journey. This week, I faced unexpected setbacks leaving me with a backlog of assignments, notes and coursework to tackle.
The week began with an unwelcome surprise for me. I
woke up on a blessed Monday feeling terribly indisposed, battling a fever and a
persistent headache. I was unable to move, talk more or attempt to attend
classes. So, I decided to rest in the hope of recovering quickly.
Unfortunately, Tuesday brought another blow. As I reached
for my phone to notify my friends about my absence, I discovered that my phone
had suffered damage. This left me not only physically unwell but also
disconnected from the outside world. I couldn't reach out to my classmates for
notes or updates on assignments.
By Wednesday, I began to realize the gravity of my situation.
With no way to communicate with my classmates, or access study materials, my
academic and extracurricular responsibilities started piling up. The feeling of
helplessness was hard to shake.
On Thursday, after I had swallowed a pack of malaria
tablets and antibiotics, my health began to improve, but strangely, albeit
slowly. Still unable to get my phone fixed, the backlog seemed insurmountable. It
became a race against time.
With determination and a burning desire to regain
control of my academic responsibilities, I managed to get out. The weekend
offered a brief respite from my usual academic schedule. The week that started
with an unexpected illness and a damaged phone was about to end on the same note. By
the next Monday, I had managed to claw my way back into my studies. Setbacks
are inevitable, but the ability to adapt and persevere can lead to success.
