sets to give 40m worth scholarship to 100 students

The initiative of funding a scholarship worth 40m naira to support the dreams and aspirations of 100 Nigerian youths over a duration of four academic years has been put in place by Stanbic IBTC. This was obtained from the information released on the Stanbic IBTC platform.

Over the years, the organization has been funding the scholarship scheme through various activities such as Youth Leadership Series (YLS), was Higher Institution Football League (HIFL) and so on in order to encourage hard work and academic excellence amongst the Nigerian undergraduates.

The scholarship is opened to students who participated in the 2021-2022 Unified Matriculation Examination (UTME) with a score of at least 250 and have gained admission into any Nigerian federal or state university.

It should be noted that students from Universities that cancelled 2020/2021 session due to Covid-19 and ASUU strike such as University of Ibadan can also apply for the scholarship.

In the words of Dr Demola Sogunle, Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, the organization recognizes the importance and impact of education in the life of every Nigerian youth. According to him: “Education  empowers and encourages the youth to prepare for the future while also confronting challenges. Education is a  panacea for growth and enduring development of any nation or  organization.” 

In addition to the above requirements, documents such as recent passport photograph (not more than 200KB, JPEG), valid identification card, O’ level result ( WAEC, NECO or GCE) Statement of Result or Certificate and Jamb or University Admission Letter are required to be uploaded for the application of the scholarship.

The deadline for the scholarship application is 30th of November, 2021.
