Everything you need for better future and academic success has already been written. And guess what? All you have to do is go to the library".
—Henri Frederic Amiel
Upon seeing the talking point for this discussion, you may ask the question: 'Do I really have to use the university or departmental library to come out successful in my academics? Or is using the library necessary to having a good performance in one's academics? Well, you may be right with these questions, but it is quite important to understand that maximizing the libraries is necessary for academic success.
Maximizing the use of the library may not necessarily be a prerequisite for academic success but rather for developing oneself in terms of the acquisition of knowledge and thus having an excellent performance in academics. In other words, to encourage and promote your learning and grasping of knowledge, the library is a good place to start.
The university and departmental libraries offer access to vast collection of resources and information including books, journals, research papers and multimedia materials. The library also helps students with reference materials for projects or research works.
The library helps in increasing concentration levels, especially when you get distracted easily, perhaps at your place of residence. It makes students focus on their studies even more efficiently.
Libraries should not be given up on, instead, they should be maximized as they are one of the prerequisites for a student's academic success.
