Naps Executive Council: A Feather In The Cap?

One thing the Department of Philosophy has been renowned for right from time is being exceptional. From past administrations, NAPSITES have also votively chosen leaders who sometimes do not only prove themselves capable but dedicate themselves to the betterment of the department. This week, in contrast to past administrations, we will be doing an appraisal of the present administration of the National Association of Philosophy Students' Executive Council. We daresay that this team has been doing a commendable job in steering the department toward the desired height with its innovative activities.

The Sukanmi-led administration has been a driving force behind fostering a sense of belonging and community among philosophy students. Their dedication and commitment have not gone unnoticed. They've managed to improve the overall experience for philosophy students in various ways. The organization's events have been engaging and informative, offering students a chance to learn and be carried along in the activities going on in the department. Their transparency and accessibility have also allowed students to voice their concerns and ideas, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

But let's not forget the most important message here - urging the NAPS Executive Council not to relent at the end of the day. Yes, they've been doing well, but the journey doesn't end here. In fact, this is where the real challenge begins. It's easy for any administration to become complacent after an array of applause. Hence, it is crucial for our present leaders to maintain their energy, enthusiasm, and commitment.

We have all witnessed how, unlike the past administrations, creative initiatives like the implementation of a content creation team, the launch of a book club, and even the minutest humane consideration of making the toilet key accessible to all NAPSITES; stemmed from this administration. Yet, we hope to see that they do not relent in their efforts.

In a conversation with NAPS PRESS, the president gave his words as regards the notable activities in his administration so far, saying:

"There is no need to put them aside as if they are less notable. They are my notable achievements as they are things that the department hasn't experienced ever since I've been a student, and I think it's worthy of commendation. However, there are still other things in the pipeline, that I can't mention now because we are still working on them but when the time comes, it would also be added to the list of 'notable achievements'".

"Apart from tutorials, I think the proper dissemination of information and carrying the students of the department along on the necessary things, as basic as it can sound, is notable. The proper day-to-day running of the department is also something, and also, there are cases where the association's interest is represented both at the management level in the department, the faculty, and the school at large. It is something that past administrations have sustained and I think to an extent, we've also upheld the standard."

The height of our dear department depends on the continued dedication of the set leaders, and we hope to see that they maintain the energy and euphoria. It's one thing to be enthusiastic, and it's a greater thing to keep up the energy by rising to the occasion as and when due.
