Agbowo's robbery; UISU informs students to stay safe out there

 


Now that school has resumed it virtual lectures fully and the Management of University of Ibadan stated specifically that no students will be accommodated on campus. It is important to note that a larger percent of students have decided to stay off campus in places such as; Agbowo, Orogun, Ajibode, Bodija, Sango, even as far as Apete which is quite unsafe for them.

Remember the July 12, 2019 unfortunate robbery incident that happened around 2am at the Obafemi Awolowo Hostel, where students gadgets- laptops and phones- and other valuable items were carted away. This happened on campus, where security officers (Abefele) operates twenty four hours (24hours).

Just today(March 20, 2021), a student at Omorilewa, Agbowo confirmed Burglars sporadic shooting that happened around 2am. It's just four weeks of the semester and students are beginning to experience such unpropitious situation.

However, the University of Ibadan Students' Union has advised students in Agbowo to stay safe out and continue to observe the following security measures; ensure that the locks of ones room and house are in good condition, not to stay out past 8pm, switch off the light in the  room, report any strange faces around ones area, try to have good relationship with your neighbors and not walk around alone.
