NAPS PRESS: Can we meet you ?
Opeoluwa: I'm Olapade Opeoluwa
A 100level student of the department of philosophy
NAPS PRESS: Did you choose Philosophy ?
Opeoluwa: It chose me. My initial course was law but when philosophy was given my uncle advised me to accept it
NAPS PRESS: How has the virtual classes been?
Opeoluwa: It's been really stressful and not organized. Sometimes we have to attend class according to the time table but there would be no link for us and the stress of checking Moodle every single hour for lecture notes and seeing nothing then after a week or two you see that the lecturer uploaded from week 1 to 3 in one day. Some lectures don't upload anything or send links to the app, they would wait for the class rep to meet them in their respective office to ask what's going on before they give out any information. Is it even the zoom classes that take eternity to connect or the students that refuse to mute their microphones after entering a class, allowing background noise to interfere in the lecture or the lecturer fixing a zoom class the day we are not having his class on the timetable.
NAPS PRESS: Do you think this mode of learning would affect students performance especially freshmen?
Opeoluwa: I sincerely think it would,I pity most people that can't login go their portals and all. And those that come online once in a while and don't read all the messages when they come online because it would be too long for them to read, they would miss a lot of information
Opeoluwa: And right now information is the key to all this online class
NAPS PRESS: How do you feel finally being a UIte?
Opeoluwa: Normal 😂
NAPS PRESS: Any memorable moments ?
Opeoluwa: An embarrassing moment was when I was coming back from my friend's place, unfortunately for me it rained and the road was flooded, people were dipping their legs into the water some were carrying themselves, others were jumping gutter, I was like I'm going to jump this gutter rather than putting my leg inside this dirty water, I landed inside the gutter, everyone was shocked. Some were saying standup and some were saying sorry.I acted like I fainted inside the gutter because I didn't even know how I want to come out with everyone staring at me. I have so many happy moments too but I can't remember anyone right now
NAPS PRESS: What's your Philosophy of life?
Opeoluwa: That anything worth doing at all, is worth doing well. So whether your course, your job or anything you are doing, so far you are doing it make sure you do it well
NAPS PRESS: Shouts out to anyone ?
Opeoluwa: Shout out to our class rep Sukanmi, he is really doing a lot for us. To Jatto lee and Zainab they really helped me a lot when I was in Ibadan.
