The university of Ibadan has fixed the matriculation date for the 2020/2021 academic session. The virtual matriculation ceremony is to be held at 10.00am on Tuesday,16th of March, 2021 at Trenchard hall, making it the first matriculation ceremony to be held virtually, in history.

According to a statement signed by Mr Oladejo Tunji, the institution's Director of public Communication, a total number of 8197 newly admitted students are expected to participate in the ceremony in which the University Registrar, Mrs. OlubummiFaluyi, will be administering their matriculation oath on them and the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adebola Babatunde Ekanola, presiding over the ceremony.

Also, a break down of the number of freshers to be participating in the ceremony, shows that 4243 are from the conventional mode while 3954 are from the open and distance education (ODE), for parity of esteem.
