Real Warri Pikin Commemorates World Suicide Prevention Day

Nigerian comedian, Anita Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, commemorated World Suicide Prevention Day creating awareness on how suicide can be prevented.
This was conveyed through her verified Instagram account on Sunday. While speaking in the video, she said that suicide is real and has been her struggle since June 2018. Anita further listed some measures that can be taken to prevent suicide, which include:
Normalizing talking about suicide, that mental health challenges are real and not everything is spiritual, being kind to one another in words and actions; tough love should be reduced, checking up on friends, especially the “strong friends”, making therapies accessible, by making them affordable for Nigerians of all classes.
She concludes by saying that suicide is not an option, that things may be hard now, but it will eventually get easier, and that we should all come together to prevent suicide and only we can help ourselves.
As per the custom, every year, organizations and media personnel who have similar interests in the prevention of suicide, raise awareness by giving talks on what should be done.
