7th Week?! Balance, Please
I really need someone to pinch me. How are we caught up in the 7th week of academic lectures already? Dear diary, I need prescriptions on a tested and trusted balance dosage. By now, you already know that as a final year student of Philosophy, my days are often filled with intellectual pursuits, philosophical inquiries, and a load of academic responsibilities. This week, in particular, has been a truckload of activity as I juggled my project proposal, making up for missed classes (oh, I didn't tell you? I missed some classes), assignments' submission deadlines, my career pursuit (because what's school without a life after school?), and fellowship meetings (I already told you; God is my backbone).
As usual, I had prepared for the week ahead. My week began with careful planning and setting clear goals. I knew that my project proposal was the top priority, so I spent my Monday outlining the scope of my research, identifying key literature, and crafting an enticing introduction. With a strong sense of purpose, I was also looking forward to the World Mental Health Day (there again, an open secret about me - a mental health advocate).
Philosophy classes are the heart of my academic journey, and this week was no different. They are one of the most enriching aspects of my education. I'm likewise glad that I was able to spend time nurturing my project proposal. I meticulously refined my research question and methodology, ensuring that my ideas aligned with my academic goals. Some time was spent buried in books, searching for relevant sources and critically evaluating existing literature.
Well, I had assignments also piling up. One of the great challenges of being a final year student is the ability to balance multiple assignments at once. I tackled these tasks, embattling discipline and time management, in order to complete each assignment excellently. The process of revision in philosophy is as important as the initial writing, as it allows for the refinement of one's ideas and arguments.
Sunday, typically a day of rest, provided me with the opportunity to recharge and relax by fellowshipping with God and my friends. It's crucial for any student to take a break, giving the mind the much-needed space to unwind and gain a fresh perspective.
My life this week was literally a search for delicate balance of scholarly pursuits, intellectual challenges, and personal growth. It was a demanding but ultimately rewarding experience, as I continued to refine my philosophical skills and knowledge, taking one step closer to graduation and the ever-evolving world of philosophy.
