"NAPS as Dept. Responsible for Financial Demand of Show," says Tamar

The face of the newly launched content creation program, Tamar Collins, has disclosed in an interview with the Press on Monday, that the National Association of Philosophy Students is responsible for the funding of the team.

NAPS PRESS: Please introduce yourself to the readers

Tamar: Hello, thank you so much for this opportunity. My name is Precious Onyinyechi Jisieike, also known as Tamar. I’m a 300-level student in this prestigious department.

NAPS PRESS: We have been seeing your creative and riveting content. What inspired the newly-launched NAPS social media platform

Tamar: Well, the NAPS social media platform is a brain-child of the Sukanmi-led administration and I’m just privileged to be heading the team of geniuses. The creation of the social media platform was inspired by a conversation with the current NAPS President and a mutual interest to see our dear department get the sort of recognition it deserves and to correct already existing misconceptions about the department and “Philosophy” as a discipline.

NAPS PRESS: Bring us up to speed on the activities of the newly launched NAPS social media platform.

Tamar: The NAPS social media team has been working tirelessly to build a social media presence for the entire department. We started out by creating Instagram and Twitter accounts and thankfully, members of the department supported the cause by following the pages. We continued building anticipation and finally started creating and sharing jaw-dropping content that has the perfect mix of creative intelligence and humour. We have left no stone unturned as we have included even the lecturers in this creative process.

NAPS PRESS: How have you been juggling planning content and sharing it with academic demands?

Tamar: To be honest, it hasn’t been entirely easy, but I’ve learnt to work under pressure without any part of my life having to suffer because of the other. It takes a lot of sacrifice and doggedness, but this is something I thoroughly enjoy doing. I burn my night candles for my academics and also for this cause (content creation). Also, having a team that buys into the vision and does all they can to see that our ideas are executed properly really makes things better.

NAPS PRESS: Is this team part of the Sunkanmi administration or an independent body?

Tamar: It is part of the Sunkanmi-led administration.

NAPS PRESS: Have there been any limitations so far in the production processes including finance?

Tamar: Well, yes. The unwillingness of some students to participate in the creative process can be somewhat discouraging because we will always need people. And I would also say that our work could be easier if we had certain equipment and devices.

NAPS as a department is responsible for the financial demands of the show and they’re actively working towards including us in their budget, but we as a team also do our best to support however, we can. We are all one body and it’s all for the love of NAPS.

NAPS PRESS: How have you and your team been responding to it?

Tamar: I and the team have been taking things one step at a time. We understand that this entire thing is still new and most people are still adjusting to it, and that things won’t always be like this. So, we are learning to do the most with what we have (human and material resources) and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.

NAPS PRESS: What more scintillating content should we be expecting from you, our dear social media star and Icon?

Tamar: I’m someone who believes in versatility and I consider myself to be someone who has a boisterous personality, this follows me even down to the ideas in my head and the execution of those ideas. I would say expect brilliantly colourful content, expect content that involves any and every member of the department.

Also, I’ve been working personally with our PLATO ACADEMY stars to give them the recognition they deserve, and I believe that’s something to look out for.
