Poem

By Kon Eme

Giants

When all is said and done,
The giants take the grain.
The giants feast and partake in their foils,
While the people take the strain.

Little people with little voices,
Try their best to survive.
But the giant monsters with giant appetites,
Eat their souls alive.

And when the people try to fight,
Try to make their choices,
The giants make sure they're always ready,
To trample those stray voices.

Little people with nowhere to turn,
Try their best to flee.
But the giants choose where the borders end,
So, the people are never free.

The little people give all they have,
They pray to their gods up high.
But the giants take that and whatever's left,
And their prayers never reach the sky.
