NAPS PRESS UI:Can we meet you?

Morakinyo:I am Morakinyo Beckley, an Optimistic, Vibrant and Goal-driven student of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria studying towards bagging a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. I am the last born childof the family of 4. Recently, I had a keen interest in Finance(particularly the human resources and securities division) which I’m aiming to pursue. This is little i can say about myself. .

NAPS PRESS UI: Did you choose Philosophy Or Philosophy chose you ?

Morakinyo: I chose Philosophy.

NAPS PRESS UI: Howhas your academic journey been so far ?

Morakinyo: My academic journey has been great, compared to the first institution I attended. UI and Philosophy has helped set my path to success and widened or broaden my view about life. My interpersonal skill has not been the same. As a result, it has been well enhanced which I’m grateful for. On the other side, it hasn’t been too easy as well. Ups and Downs in the system of education in Nigeria has not really helped as well as. Rigid lecturers also has not really made things easy in the schoolbut above all, the journey has been good so far.

NAPS PRESS UI: What is your philosophy of life

Morakinyo: My philosophy about life:

• Always remember, the possibilities are endless. Keep working towards your dream and don't get worried about the way life is moving, time will answer you.

• Believe in God but don't support the stupidity that goes around in the name of religion.

• Don't trust everyone. Just be sensible with that and

• Learn from your experiences, that is really important.

NAPS PRESS UI: Favorite Lecturers?

Morakinyo: Dr Monica in Classics and Prof Afolayan.

NAPS PRESS UI:Has a finalist which mode of learning do you prefer and why? Morakinyo: I prefer the physical mode of learning. I have actually preferred the online system if we had an adequate technological provision for it in Educational system in Nigeria Public Universities. For now, the Physical mode has by far proven to be better in the context of being more interactive compared to the online system where we have network glitches. NAPS PRESS UI:Relationship status?

Morakinyo: Single and not ready to mingle.

NAPS PRESS UI:What is that one thing you would love to change if you can go back in time about Philosophy department

Morakinyo: The only memorable moment that is coming to my head is when my best friend (Adeoti Anthonia) and my Guys(Babalola Boluwatife and Winifred) stood up for me, when I needed them the most.If I talk I can get rusticatedbut prefer not to

NAPS PRESS UI: What do you think can contribute to the growth of the department?

Morakinyo: Social Harmony/Unity. When I joined the department, I noticed some sort of castigation/class. Some 400level students feeling like they are on top of the world. Thus, taking opinions or suggestions from 100level and 200level students as less important. I feel it’s still prevalent to an extent.(Senior no dey University). Every opinion has to count. This will help the department go further.

NAPS PRESS UI: What do you intend to do with your Philosophy degree after school?

Morakinyo: For now, Nothing. I’m pursuing a career in Finance though

NAPS PRESS UI: Advice to All Napsites?

Morakinyo:Believe in yourself. To achieve success, ignore doubt; fame, ignore haters; greatness, ignore fear; and immortality, ignore hardship.

NAPS PRESS UI: Shout outs to anyone ?

Morakinyo: Shoutout to my guys that have made my stay in UI beautiful. From my first friend in UI Aminu Temitope to my best friend Adeoti Anthonia. My realest guy, Babalola Boluwatife and my Amigos(lol). Thank you guys for always being there. I fit mention everybody for the department Let me just stop here
