148 IDPs May Miss 2021 UTME Over SIM Cards Issues

Solomon Folorunsho; a cleric and coordinator of a center in Ohogua, Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo, stated that about 148 internally displaced people (IDPs) at the international Christian center in the local government may miss 2021/2022 UTME due to SIM cards issues.

The cleric expressed fear that the students might miss the examination because of their inability to get the SIM cards needed to generate the JAMB pin which will end on Monday, 17th of May, 2021.

He stated that all efforts towards getting the SIM cards for the students have been unyielding.

Folorunsho attributed the challenges faced on the sales of SIM cards due to the NIN registration. He stated the center will be spending N1.15m to register the 148 IDPs for the JAMB examination.

"Each Candidate will get the form for N8,080 while we plan to get nine buses to convey them to the JAMB office for N180,000 at N20,000 per bus.
