French Onion Chicken Meatballs.

French Onion Chicken Meatballs.

Hello, lovelies. Hope you're all ready for another Buharific week. I bet you do. Keeping ourselves healthy is not very easy, besides the hectic virtual classes have been toping our frustrations. Not to worry, we can try cheating these pressures by trying out some new recipes to keep body and soul together. This week in the kitchen, I'm going to be teaching you how to go about creating proper French onion chicken meatballs. Let's roll!

Ingredients: for the meatballs.

(1) 2 tablespoon of olive oil for the baking sheet,

(2) 1 lb. ground chicken

(3) 1/2 cup of shredded cheese

(4) 1/4 cup of bread crumbs

(5) 2 tbsp. freshly chopped parsley

(6) 1 large egg (beaten)

(7) 2 cloves of garlic (minced)

(8) 1 tsp. salt

(9) Freshly ground black pepper

Ingredients for the Sauce.

(1) 4 tbsp. butter

(2) 2 large onions (thinly sliced)

(3) 2 cloves of garlic (minced)

(4) 2 cup of low-sodium beef broth

(5) 2 tsp. freshly chopped thyme, plus more for garnish

(6) Kosher salt

(7) Freshly ground black pepper

(8) 1 1/2 shredded cheese.

Note: The measurements for this are for the size I want so if you want more, just increase the measurements, and also if you don't want this much, kindly adjust the recipe. Thank you!

Preparations:

(1) The important thing is that the onion needs to be cooked fully until it is nice and brown, If you are not using an instant pot, then I suggest browning the onions first in a cast iron pan before you add them to the pot with some stock.

(2) While the onions simmer, start to build your meatballs. In a large container, combine ground chicken, cheese, bread crumbs, parsley, egg, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Form into about 15-16 meatballs, then place on a prepared baking sheet and bake until golden and cooked through for like 25 minutes.

(3) Start making the sauce by getting a small pot and melting butter into it. Add your onions, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper in and let it all boil for about 25minutes, and stirring regularly. Then reduce the simmer and let it thicken.

(4) Add your meatballs into the pot and sprinkle with cheese. Cover and cook until meatballs are warmed through and cheese is melty for about 5 minutes. Serve warm, garnished with thyme.
