THE BEAUTY OF
ANKARA PRINTS
Now
and then the fashion industry keeps evolving, different trends come and they go
but the goal is we have to keep up with the trends and remain consistent. In
light of this, we’d looked at an African-oriented material that has survived
the rigors of the global fashion market and has found its way into the hearts
of most European celebrities and I am talking about none other than the glamorous
Ankara fabric! Celebrities like Beyonce, Rihanna, Jidenna, and many more have
all been seen in the public ‘doing it the African way – the Ankara way’.
Unlike
the notion we have or we used to have that it is just traditionally recognized 'Iro'
and 'Buba' style that the Ankara is used for. Well, I’m here to open your eyes
to these amazing realities and heaven-like styles you can make of your Ankara
1. Dashiki
Traditional Top: Do you like what you see? This style is one of the recent developments
in the fashion industry. It is incredibly cute, fashionable, and appealing and
the dress is worn by the female. The dashiki traditional top can either be
rocked on Jeans or skirts with a black pair of shoes, sandals, or slippers.
2. Ankara Trouser: What about this? There’s a limitless extent as to how far you can go or how much you can do with your Ankara fabric and this picture above is just an attestation to that. Rather than the normal 'Iro' and 'Buba' we are used to, you can decide to go versatile by making a trouser out of your Ankara. You’d emerge with the perfect of looks when you rock it with any plain top (white, black, blue, etc.) depending on the initial color (or touch of clouds) on your Ankara Trouser.
3.
Crop top and Trouser made of Ankara fabric: This Ankara-made style is most suitable during the summer when the weather is humid heaty. While you relish the impeccable imprint of style it leaves you with, you also tend to feel an optimal level of comfort and ease in repulsive weather.
Female Agbada Ankara Gown: Have you been of the notion that Agbada is an outfit exclusively meant for men? Well, I’m sorry to let you know that ‘you might just be living in the past.' Perhaps in the 60s or so. Over the years the fashion industry has evolved and has made the majority of the used-to-be male style a unisex one, and such is the case of the female-agbada-Ankara-gown. However, you can also decide to include trousers if you care. The female agbada-Ankara is a popular outfit that you can rock to any occasion, be it big or small.
