“We can’t go for excursion because of the state of security in Nigeria”-NAPS Vice President
The National Association of Philosophy Students, University of Ibadan held congress at the departmental library on 23rd of September, 2021 to discuss state of the union and way forward
The President of the association, Mr Oke Ayobami urged everyone to pay up their dues as this will enable the executives to fully achieve their manifestos. Miss Kolawole Bisola, the financial secretary, gave the financial report- total money accrued and expenses-of the association.
While highlighting the achievements of the departmental male football team, the President also reinstated his interest in ensuring full participation of female football team for the department.
“We want to have enough equipments for the male team and the female team. I can remember then, when I was running as the president of this association, one of the things I said was that: it is not okay to say you are the king of AFAS and you don’t have a queen”, he stated.
Also, the President addressed the congress on the oncoming election that electoral committee will be constituted. The committee will be two representatives from each level and they shall decide on when to lift ban and modalities for campaign activities in the department.
The Vice President, Miss Adegboye Kehinde announced that an hangout has been substituted for excursion considering the state of security in the country. She suggested that congressmen to choose between having an hangout or picnic while taking into cognizance the cost of the former. A one-time payment of one thousand naira was adopted for picnic as subjected to democratic measures.
The President told aspirants vying for positions at the faculty for recognition and the congress was adjourned.
