In a country where people can barely afford 0-1-0 square meal, what the Government is more concerned about is the redesign of the Nigerian Naira, but cannot help the sorry situation of the falling value of that same Naira. Isn't this the height of cold-heartedness and nonchalance on the part of both the CBN Governor who should have resigned shamefully a long time ago and the President? Nigerians are less concerned about the beauty of the Naira, what they want is a decent meal and enough money to meet their basic needs.
Unemployment here and there with severe brain drain in every sector of the economy and the country we pledge to everyday with our hands tightly held to our chests thinks of nothing else but to beautify the Naira, not even to eradicate the double exchange conditions of the Naira.
Banks sell at a particular rate, while Mallam Shehu in Sabo sells at another ridiculously high rate. Now, if you go to the market to price anything, what traders slap you with the popular saying "Dollar ti won," and then they bill you heavily.
What is wrong with one dollar to one naira? How many times has the UK redesigned her currency, yet that currency remains the strongest in the world? We have been through enough shege, give us a Naira that can compete strongly with other currencies, even if it looks so ugly, we do not mind.
