NAPS PRESS: Tell us a little about yourself
Anto: I'm Anthonia Duru, a 400 level student of Philosophy and my hobbies are listening to good music, watching movies, eating good food and doing makeup. I have a small business I'm running and hoping to expand in the nearest future.
NAPS PRESS: Tell us a bit about your business. What you do and every detail you think we need to know about it.
Anto: Shopwithify is an online business for now, we sell unisex wears as well as household items and we cater mostly for students; that's why the prices are really affordable.
NAPS PRESS: Interesting. Did you have the intention of studying philosophy?
Anto: Not really.
NAPS PRESS: When you heard you had gained admission to study philosophy what was your reaction? What went through your mind?
I'm sure you must have been like "this course that people don't believe in God". Because that was the notion that people carried around (and are still carrying). What did you initially want to study?
Anto: I was cool with it and yes I had that belief that philosophers don't believe in God. I wanted to study Theatre Arts or Law.
NAPS PRESS: Would you be going back to study either since you have a passion?
Anto: For now, no. Maybe later in the future.
NAPS PRESS: How has philosophy transformed you and prepared you for the outside world?
Anto: It has opened my mind really. It has helped me have a better view of things and people around me as well as preparing me for what is yet to come.
NAPS PRESS: What were the challenges you faced in philosophy and as a philosophy student? And how were you able to overcome them?
Anto: Adjusting to the discipline was a major challenge. Well, I had no choice. I just tried and still try to do my best and give my all.
NAPS PRESS: Tell us a bit about your experience in Philosophy so far. The good, the bad and the ugly.
Anto: Philosophy has been a rough ride, but I still enjoy it.
NAPS PRESS: What did you enjoy most about studying Philosophy?
Anto: The fact that we discuss some controversial topics and the cool friends I made.
NAPS PRESS: What course gave you a tough time? What did you find most difficult to understand and wrap your head round as a new philosophy student?
Anto: Medieval Philosophy, Metaphysics and Logic.
NAPS PRESS: Give an advice to those in philosophy that are still in doubt or have hatred for the course.
Anto: Just give it your best. Like they always say, "no course is simple". Always have this at the back of your mind
NAPS PRESS: What next do you plan to do?
Anto: Pushing my brand and growing in every aspect of my life.
NAPS PRESS: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Anto: In 5 years, I see a successful me and a good role model to people around.
NAPS PRESS: Last words?
Anto: Be true to yourself. Don't pretend to be who you're not.
NAPS PRESS: Thank you for your time.
