Sport: Potter To Soon Face The Sack At Chelsea?

Since the takeover of Chelsea by Abramovich in the summer of 2003, the club have witnessed the era of 13 managers in 19 years; Abramovich spent over £110m on compensation payment to sacked coaches during the process. However, this pragmatic approach brought a lot of success to Chelsea since 2003; winning trophies both locally, continentally and globally.

After the purchase of Chelsea by Todd Boehly-led consortium, the first decision the new owners made was sacking Thomas Tuchel in a rather unexpected fashion. Before Tuchel’s sacking, Chelsea had a relatively poor run-of-form, winning three games in their first seven games of the 2022-23 Premier league season.

Although there were reports of rifts between the club owners and the German, like the reluctance of Tuchel on signing Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the reason for Tuchel’s dismissal. Whatever the case may be, the new owners have shown so far that they would (maybe not) be continuing the ruthless approach of Abramovich.

Following Chelsea’s loss against City, it cumulates that they won just one of their last eight Premier League games and now seated 10th in the log.

Reports have however claimed that no inside pressure is being placed on Potter inside the club. The report also claims that the Chelsea owners still believe Potter is the right boss to lead the club through a transitional phase.
