Hall Wardens Reach Consensus to Reopen Hall of Residence to Visitors

The Hall Wardens have made the decision to lift restrictions on guest visitation hours in the Halls of Residence, effective immediately. The decision was taken at a meeting held on the 27th of March, in accordance with the Ethics Governing Halls of Residence.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors were previously not permitted in the Halls of Residence. However, with the easing of restrictions and a decrease in COVID-19 cases the Hall Wardens have agreed to allow guests and visitors between 4pm to 10pm from Monday to Friday, and between 10am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays.

Visitors and guests are expected to abide by the rules and regulations governing visitation. CCTV cameras had been installed prior to this announcement in order to enhance security and discourage misbehavior.

This decision is a welcome development for residents of the Halls of Residence, who have been restricted in their ability to receive visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hall Wardens are pleased to be able to provide this increased level of social interaction for residents, while still maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

For more information on the rules and regulations governing visitation in the Halls of Residence, residents are encouraged to contact their hall warden directly or refer to their respective hall porters and student executives.
