In their first match after the resumption of club football, Chelsea FC were handed a loss against Villa in a 0-2 loss at Stamford Bridge, from two strikes from John McGin and Ollie Watkins.
The Chelsea fans in the Stamford Bridge stand showed showed their dissatisfaction towards the team by booing at them at full-time.
Potter’s firing was announced in a club statement. “Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future”, the statement reads. The club also announced Bruno Saltor as the interim coach.
However, Fabrizio Romano confirms that the recently sacked Bayern boss, Julian Nagelsmann, is the favorite to replace Potter.
