Behind The Veil: Left Hanging on Thin Air

AmyWrites

Saying life is full of drama sounds cliché almost seems clichéd too. It's true that challenges are necessary for growth and in my own case, my encounter has prescribed to me different doses of trials that I had to force down with courage.

Recall I recounted my encounter with my brutish uncle who would rather inscribe the Nigerian map on my delicate skin and chase me into the street lashing out cane and belt. Remember I also spoke about my fanatic uncle who would bloody me to sink in the idea of using a veil, and my vow to discontinue the Rasheed legacy by eschewing indiscriminate pregnancy. Finally, the lonely road I had to tread in pursuit of academics.

Well, here's the good news— I gained admission despite sitting for exams amidst raging emotions. This charted the way for a new stream of trouble as I was incapable of funding my education.

While contemplating ways to navigate the labyrinth of life's puzzle, I stumbled upon a non-governmental organisation that claims to sponsor the less privileged education.

This organisation was so believable that it got me thanking my stars for such priceless opportunity, though it soon reveal itself to be a sham.

We smiled to the camera and drew in publicity for this NGO only to be left hanging in thin air with no support. Visiting several times to no cash outcome taught me, it was yet another empty promise to reckon with and brace up from.

Behind yet another veil of travail, events took a turn afterwards beyond my explanatory prowess. However, I will find the words and I hope it doesn't escape you too.
