Burna Boy, Asake, Rema Nominated for the 2024 Brit Awards

The 2024 BRIT Awards nomination list was announced on January 24, 2024. The awards ceremony itself is to take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at The O2 arena in London. 
Afrobeats has arrived at the Brits, and the stars of Nigeria are shining brighter than ever.

Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning giant, returns to the Brits with two nominations: Best International Artist and Best International Song for his electrifying track "Last Last." Released in May 2022, "Last Last" is the first single from Burna Boy's sixth studio album, "Love, Damini." It reached the top 20 on the UK Singles Chart and the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song has amassed over 18 million views on YouTube.

Asake, shines in the Best International Artist category. His infectious tracks like "Sungba" and "Peace Be Unto You" have taken the world by storm, captivating audiences with their pulsating rhythms and playful lyricism.

Rema, the young prodigy, makes a stunning debut with a nomination for Best International Song for his hit "Calm Down." It reached number 1 on charts in Belgium, Dutch Top 40, and Dutch Single Top 100. It peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and spent 25 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10. Currently has over 300 million views on YouTube. 

These nominations mark a historic moment for Afrobeats on the global stage. It signifies the genre's undeniable influence and growing presence in the international music landscape, which is by no means a small feat. It signifies the high quality of this artist’s works and thereby encouraging their fellow artists to reach for the stars.
