The
University of Ibadan Mandates
the Use of
Identification Cards by Members
of Staff and Students
In
a special release signed and released by the Registrar, Mrs. Olubummi Faluyi and the
Directorate of Public Communications, Office of the Vice-Chancellor
respectively on the 10th of May, stated some new protocols to be adhered to
which includes the use of Identification Cards by students and staffs.
The
use of Identification Cards
by students and staff
members has
been mandated because of the security issues in the university's community.
The compliance to this will be overseen by the Servicom members.
It
has been observed by the management that a great percentage of the members of staff
have been hiding under the cover of Covid-19 protocols and this has led to
their absenteeism at work. The management,
however, stated that all staff members are expected to report to work daily and
apply all Covid-19 protocols while at work.
Lastly,
the university
management
has come against the deployment of POS services without due approval within the
University since there are several and functioning ATM facilities that cater to
the financial needs of members of the community. The use of this service is
being cautioned due to the reportage of criminal occurrences around the service in
recent times.
