An interview with Adeniyi Azeez, a final year student of Department of Philosophy
NAPS PRESS: Can we meet you?
Azeez: I am Adeniyi Azeez, a 400l student of the Department of Philosophy. I am also a professional visual artist.
NAPS PRESS: What was your first impression about philosophy?
Azeez: I was really just curious.
NAPS PRESS: So you choose philosophy?
Azeez: Yeah, definitely.
NAPS PRESS : How would you describe your journey as a philosophy student?
Azeez: It’s really enlightening. Being an artist, I really believe it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.
NAPS PRESS: How have you been able to combine both Art and Philosophy?
Azeez: “Oluwa ni o”. It has been a very arduous journey. At a point, I had to leave the executing part of art making to focus on philosophy.
NAPS PRESS: What's your take on the notion, "With philosophy you can work anywhere"?
Azeez: Philosophy offers great preparation for many professional occupation if you choose to major in philosophy. I personally see philosophy as a stepping stone to whatever profession one decides on later in life.
NAPS PRESS: Aside philosophy, where else does your interest lies?
Azeez: Apparently art, film making and beautiful women….LOL
NAPS PRESS : What do you think the department should improve on?
Azeez: I have always been a believer of oneness and unity. I totally feel students from all levels in the department should relate more.
NAPS PRESS: What do you intend to do with your Philosophy degree?
Azeez: I really just want to paint the world after school, my little knowledge in philosophy will definitely help.
