The University of Ibadan Students’ Union WhatsApp TV under the leadership of the Public Relation Officer, Olalekan Michael has suspended operations till further notice.
This is coming shortly after IndyPress and UCJUI published an investigative indicating how the PRO has reportedly contravene the Union’s law in the course of managing the UISU’TV.
Reacting, the Students Representative Council (SRC) speaker, Hon. Eniola Olatoye, in an interview with UCJUI maintained the House has ordered the immediate suspension of activities on the WhatsAppTV pending the outcome of the Students Disciplinary Committee.
He said: “We mentioned this in our sitting today during the AOB session, and our Honourable memebers highlighted aspects of the constitution that seem to have been flouted. For those reasons, his case has been forwarded to the disciplinary committee for proper investigation”
In a follow-up post, the Students Union PRO has officially announced the suspension via the WhatsAppTV directing students to reach out to his personal phone number for inquiries.
