The first week of the SEALS Cup has so far been a disappointing show for the teams of the Faculty of Arts. Aside Philosophy, other Arts departments in the competition have failed to impress in their outings so far in the tournament.
Religious studies lost their first match to Agricultural Engineering by two goals while Classics and History settled for a goalless draw in a match that was an eyesore to watch.
Archaeology and Anthropology also lost their opener by two goals to Political Science. Philosophy had been the only Faculty of Arts team in the tournament to have managed a fairly good result in their opener against Law.
As it stands, Religious Studies are out of the competition after losing 4-2 in the hands of Geography in their second group stage match. Classics will be looking determine their own fatewhen they square off against KHE as the underdog.
In an early kickoff on Monday, however, History managed a victory against Agric Economics with a lone goal. This victory will book them a spot in the knockouts if they can savage a draw against KHE in their last game of the group stage.
Also, a victory for Philosophy in their second group stage match against Geology will edge them closer to the knockout stage of the competition
