Representatives of 400L, Oke Ayobami and Oyewole Praise won the inter-level debate organised by the executives of National Association of Philosophy Students, University of Ibadan held at Faculty of Arts, Large Lecture Theatre
Speaking at the event, 400L representatives argued in support of Individual rationality on the topic “ Do you consider morality as an ordinance of God or individual rationality” while representatives of 100L, Adedeji Praise and Ekosi Jane argued in support of God’s ordinance
Dr E. A Layode, a lecturer at the Department announced the results, where he stated that having thoroughly considered the cateria for assessing the debaters, 400l representatives garnered 72.5 and 100L representatives scored 60.5.
Giving remark, according to one of the judges, Dr Owoseni Wale lauded the debaters, he said: “This is an interesting debate and at some point I almost forgot they are in 100l” and likewise gave further insight to some points raised.
Recall that at the first round of the debate, 400level representatives garnered 66.5points defeating 300level who amassed 59points, while 100level representatives had 119 points defeating 200level with 108points.
Aside students from the Department, the event also had in attendance representatives of Department of Philosophy of the following Universities, Dominican University, Don Bosco University, University of Lagos( UNILAG)
